December 14 and 15, 2022 – Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon

The International Congress “Political Outbreaks Against the Liberal Order (1917-1940) Practices and celebrations” will take place on 14 and 15 December at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon.

The conferences and papers of the congress seek to analyse the public use of revolutions and political outbursts in Europe and Latin America after the Great War, understood as a set of policies that narrate and visually represent a selection of historical events in order to legitimise a new political system and generate consensus around it.

Organised by the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon and the University of Girona, with funding from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia and the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.
